Winner of Best Documentary at the 2012 San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival, A Lot Like You is a deeply layered, first-person journey into the most intimate corners of a family’s multi-generational and cross-continental history. What begins as a familiar search for mixed-race identity unfolds into a poignant exploration of personal and political self-awareness. Tender, fresh, and intellectually rigorous, this documentary defies convention, emerging as a powerful and exemplary work of 21st-century autobiographical filmmaking.
