George Brandt & Jessie Summa Russo: Artist Talk (with cookies)

Join us for a free artist talk on Sunday, January 12, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Gallery 110, featuring guest artists George Brandt and Jessie Summa Russo. Brandt, whose large ink automatic drawings from 1981 paper the gallery unframed for an immersive experience, will discuss his use of Surrealist techniques to explore the unconscious mind—a rare opportunity to hear about how these works function as a personal journal of the time. Jessie Summa Russo, presenting her first solo gallery exhibition, will share the inspiration behind her “Cosmic Grids,” abstract and fragmentary snapshots of lives floating in the void of space. Don’t miss this chance to engage with both artists in an intimate setting over tea and cookies—there will even be an opportunity to try your hand at some automatic drawing yourself.
