Baso Fibonacci / Zach Rockstad

Friends since childhood, these two Seattle artists have similar backgrounds. They both were active in the urban youth cultures of skateboarding and graffiti. How this has translated in their art is the reason for this exhibition.

Both artists are skilled technicians who use their craft to awaken us to the often missed or ignored beauty and chaos of urban life. Baso’s most recent exhibit and accompanying book memorialized the tragic consequences of the fentanyl epidemic. Through commercial endeavors in mural painting and sign painting, Zach uses layered depictions of both recognizable and abstracted imagery to home in on the chaotic world we find ourselves in.
