Chase Langford | Metacarto

‘Metacarto,’ Chase Langford’s recent works, synthesize geographic forms and cartographic abstraction. Langford’s paintings utilize contrasting yet complementary colors to create expanding and contracting layers reminiscent of geologic strata. Influenced by real and imagined landscapes, his depictions recall maps and aerial photography of seacoasts, mountains, farmland and cities. ‘Metacarto’ opens First Thursday, September 5, 6 – 8 pm with the artist in attendance. The exhibition runs until Saturday, September 21.
