Dan Webb – Yespalier

Webb’s exhibition Yespalier merges the English “yes” with espalier, the French practice of training a fruit tree to grow flat against a wall. Many works in the exhibition similarly begin with a wall-based armature—literal or metaphorical—onto which Webb trains his carved wood imagery into low-relief forms.
