Found in Translation

Through layered abstract paintings, Jyotsna translates the experience of moving between worlds into overlapping visual systems. Forms cross boundaries, patterns interrupt and reshape one another and fragments disappear and return changed. “Found in Translation” is about the new fluencies that emerge at the edges of different worlds. “I’ve moved between different worlds for most of my life, and it’s taught me to recognize that movement in other people. Their worlds may be completely from mine, but there’s something intimate in that recognition without ever having to name it.”
