Welcome to the Original Seattle Neighborhood – rich in history, arts, culture, and food!
‘CLAP CLAP Clap Clap Clap clap clap DOG SHOW!,’ ceramicist George Rodriguez’s newest collection of works celebrates our love of dogs. The exhibition opens First Thursday, May 1, 6 – 8 pm, with the artist in attendance. On the exhibition, Rodriguez states, “In this body of work, I take “man’s best friend” for a walk. We are going to the Dog Show to celebrate the complexity, wisdom, and cuteness of our longtime allies. From the domesticated pooch to the wild canine, the human fascination with dogs transcends time and geography. By referencing historical and contemporary depictions of dogs, I aim to show their deep connections to our lives.” The exhibition runs until Saturday, May 24.
In tandem with the exhibition, Foster/White will host a Best in Show Dog Show in gallery on Saturday, May 3 at 2 pm. Bring your dog to participate in a series of categories including evening wear (any dog outfit counts), runway, and talent. Our judges, George Rodriguez, and representatives from Old Dog Haven and Dog Gone Seattle will vote on which dog is Best is Show. All participants will receive a prize, and the winner will receive a medallion made by Rodriguez himself.
