Welcome to the Original Seattle Neighborhood – rich in history, arts, culture, and food!
Opening Reception: March 05, 5 – 8PM
Show Duration: March 05 – March 31
GO’C Welcomes Oregon-based artist Tom Hausken as its first of three artists showing in their space in 2026.
Tom’s work is inspired by landscapes, yet does not strictly tie itself to any specific place or time. By working and re-working his canvases, Tom often builds up to thirty layers of material, from traditional oils and acrylics to industrial coatings, inks, and shellac, he creates pieces that accept flaws, erasures, and concealments as vital parts of the narrative. The same flaws, erasures, and concealments found in the natural world around us. In this sense, Tom’s work embraces chance and the passage of time.
Come help us kick off Tom Hausken’s exhibition at an opening reception March 5th from 5-8PM during the Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk. Our GO’C office in the historic Schwabacher Building at 89 Yesler Way will be open to the public to gather, experience Tom’s work, and celebrate the connection between art and architecture.
