Hatchet

This exhibition explores texture, pattern and material itself as both structure and subject. Made with fiber, metal, wood, ceramics, and paint, these works have been cut, sewn, torn, punctured, dyed, carved, sheared, scraped, fired, and forged to reveal their final form. Together, the works in Hatchet reveal a raw softness by building up and paring down materials through repetition of force.
