Safety Dance created by Colleen Louise Barry is interested in the twin theaters of danger and protection. The works in this show all strive to create a sense of imminent menace or enduring refuge, examining the tension present between these through the eyes of animals, children, and mothers.
This exhibition spans mixed media sculpture, ceramics, photography, painting, installation, zine-making, and writing, exemplifying Barry’s diverse artistic practice.
