PROUD – A Group Exhibit Celebrating Identity

First Thursday Art Walk / Opening Reception: June 4, 5-8pm

Identity is rarely singular or simple. It is shaped by heritage, community, lived experience, resilience, contradiction, and growth. For some, pride may be rooted in cultural continuity while for others it may emerge from gender identity or sexual orientation, disability, parenthood, religious practice, activism, environmental stewardship, or another defining aspect of self. Many identities exist at once, intersecting and informing one another in ways that often resist clean and simple categorization.

PROUD is a collective declaration that invites artists and viewers alike to reflect on the layered, complex, and deeply personal nature of identity. Through painting, sculpture, carving, printmaking, mixed media, and beyond, the artists in PROUD offer works that speak to their own crossroads and, ultimately, ask the viewer about their own.
