ROBERT McNOWN: COMING HOME – Recent Paintings By One Of Seattle’s Premier Abstract Expressionists

COMING HOME represents the return to Seattle of artist, Robert McNown in his first solo gallery show since his former and much beloved gallery representative, FRANCINE SEDERS, closed in 2013 and McNown retired to Lawrence, KS. The Francine Seders Gallery was arguably the most influential Seattle gallery in it’s time (1970-2013) representing the top artists who either emerged from, or spent many critical years in, the Pacific Northwest, contributing to it’s vibrant visual arts scene; including Mark Tobey, Guy Anderson, Fay Jones, Jacob Lawrence, and others.
Robert McNown, began his gallery career with Seders in 1992 after five years with another renowned Seattle gallery, Woodside/Braseth, and shows at The Henry Art Gallery, University of Washington; and The Bellevue Art Museum. During his twenty years with Francine Seders, clearly a gallerist who recognized great talent, expressive skill, and cutting edge creativity, produced ten solo shows of Robert McNown’s work!
