Romson Bustillo – Artist Talk at The Shop

Artist Romson Bustillo will be giving a talk at the LMN Shop about his practice and his collaborations on the Seattle Convention Center and Pinehurst Lightrail station. Romson says of his work:

“I am exploring the concept of continuity within the landscape of what is contemporary art. My understanding is that for descendants of colonized and enslaved peoples, the cultural and physical interruptions of our lineages did not sever us from our ancestral knowledge bank. The art I create is less about re-imagining or what could have been; it is a testament to what is. We are, indeed, still here. It speaks of innovations and creations made with the materials, technologies, and social conditions of our present time, built upon that foundation.”

Romson works in a variety of media, including glass, paint, and print-arts. Please join us for a celebration and exploration of his practice at the LMN shop – 723 1st ave. The talk will begin around 5:30 with time for a Q+A and social hour to follow.
