Elizabeth Gahan’s paintings use urban landscapes to explore how people build their surroundings which in turn shapes everyday experiences. She focuses on relationships between natural and built environments, public space and shared experience, as well as organic and hard-edge forms. Gahan portrays the built environment as complex ecosystems; an entanglement of intentional and organic growth that shifts and adapts to flourish.
