Welcome to Paradise: ¡Viva Puerto Rico Libre! is a solo exhibition by Seattle-based Puerto Rican artist Jo Cosme, presented by the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture. The show transforms the gallery into an immersive environment that reimagines Puerto Rico beyond its polished “paradise” image — exposing the ongoing effects of colonization, displacement, and resilience through installation, sound, and interactive works.
This expanded presentation also features contributions from over 30 artists directly from Puerto Rico, creating a collective dialogue between art, history, and community. The exhibition includes monthly programs such as artist walkthroughs, film screenings, and performances under the series La Residencia: No me dejan quedarme aquí.
Opening night will feature a live Bomba performance by Otoqui Reyes and installation activations by Shey Rivera.
Admission is free and open to the public.
